DWI
The penalties for driving while
intoxicated, or DWI, in Louisiana are tough, and they get tougher if you
continue to commit offenses. Mandatory prison sentences, high fines, loss of
your driver’s license – it all adds up to spell trouble for you.
If you have been charged with
DWI, you need a lawyer fast. In particular, if you refused to submit to testing,
you only have a very limited time period in which to file a “Request for
Hearing” with the Department of Public Safety or you risk having your driver’s
license suspended for 180 or 545 days. And if your test showed a blood alcohol
concentration of .08 or higher, your license may be suspended for 90 days or 1
year.
You need a tough, experienced
attorney fast. You want the kind of representation that I can give you. I’ll
come to wherever you are being held, if you’ve been arrested, to discuss the
charges and what actions we should take next. I will examine the facts of your
case closely to see if there are any preliminary legal issues that the judge
should decide. I can help you evaluate any offer that is made for you to plead
to reduced charges or for a set sentence. And if you decide to go to trial, I
will give you an aggressive yet skilled defense to help you get the best
possible result in your case.
Don’t feel as though you are
facing this alone. Contact my
office to discuss your case. Let’s see what we can accomplish together. |
